Illustration Warning for NOM doll costume patterns:
There are ethnic/nationality/regional patterns of attire worn by peoples, tribes, and societies around the world,
which show FEMALE NUDITY on top.
These costumes were authentic up to & during the
1800s to mid 1900s.  (a few remain today.)
A few of you may feel these illustrations are not appropriate
for very young children.

Not only will you receive pattern pieces and detailed instructions to make a sewn fabric costume (as with all Wonderful World Of Dolls Patterns;) but very detailed instructions and diagrams for doll costumes that are more "tribal" in nature.  Complete details are given for proper hairdo (no matter how unusual,) jewelry and necessary accessories...including body markings; and props where appropriate.  Numerous tips are given to improvise items by using what you may find around the house to make portions of doll accessories or costumes.

National costume dolls have been collectible long before doll collecting became fashionable.  I have been told by many of my customers who have been teachers, that they have used ethnic costumed dolls from my Nation-Of-The-Month patterns as visual aids when teaching young children how people of the world looked and lived in times long ago.  Some of their collections are now in museum and library collections.
